We Belong to YOU!

We're proud to be the credit union of Floyd County Government employees and their families!

The credit union difference is more than a catchy phrase or tagline. It’s an attitude, a philosophy, and a better way of looking at financial services. We are different than banks in 3 key ways:

  • Credit Unions are Member‐Owned.
When you deposit money, you buy shares into
our financial cooperative. We then loan the money to other members. We return the “profits” we make to you in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and fewer fees.

  • Credit Unions are Member‐Focused.
Unlike banks that profit their stockholders, we are a non‐profit institution that profits our members.

  • Credit Unions are Member‐Driven.
As a member of our financial cooperative, you have a say in what we do. You elect our all‐volunteer board. Every member gets a vote, regardless of their net worth.

Membership with GP Federal Credit Union is a benefit provided to you as a Floyd County Government employee, and your family members, too! In fact, your family can join, even if you don’t!

  • A strong and stable financial institution formed in 1935
  • Deposits insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA
  • A Smaller Credit Union, but with the Products & Services of a “Big Bank”
  • Genuinely Personalized Service
  • Fewer Fees
  • Some of the Lowest Loan Rates Around (in fact, we’ll meet or beat most any rate)
Credit union membership starts with a share (savings) account with a small minimum deposit ($5) and membership fee (also $5). Then, you can add a free checking account, Club account, low‐rate credit card, and so much more!
